About Duchy

Duchy HC was setup in 2009 with the aim of bringing hockey back to the Camborne/Pool/Redruth area. We've grown rapidly from a single men's team to one of Cornish Hockey's finest, with four senior league teams; a fully fledged junior system; masters' and mixed teams. The club play and train at Pool Academy, with an integrated junior, development and senior training structure that provides the perfect platform for all ages and abilities to enjoy hockey as a family. We pride ourselves on catering for a diverse mix of skills and we aim to play good, exciting hockey with an emphasis on enjoyment.

Duchy Hockey club was formed 15 years ago by 12 friends and now has over 150 senior members, 3 Men’s teams and 3 Women’s teams. We also have a thriving and growing junior section. We are based at Pool Academy and we have close connections with the local community.

We host the annual Cornwall summer 7s competition which takes place every May to August.

As part of our community connections we run walking hockey sessions every week, an ideal way to get back to hockey after a break or injury. It’s also a great way to introduce yourself to this sport.

We are a very welcoming and inclusive club and we work hard to keep playing costs as low as possible as we believe that money should never be a barrier to playing the sport we love.

Training

Training | Training for takes place at Pool Academy (TR15 3PZ) on Wednesday & Thursday evenings. Junior Training and Development Training will run 6:30pm-7:30pm on Wednesdays. Senior teams will rotate across two evenings throughout the season, on Wednesdays (7:30pm - 9:30pm) and Thursdays (8:00pm - 9:00pm)

No Match Fees

Thanks to our sponsors, and the fundraising activities of the club as a whole, Duchy does not charge match fees for competitive or friendly matches.
